SO totally there. Need me so loud guitar rawk so I can attempt to block out the incessant whining and caterwauling of 20-something know-it-all colleagues who think the world owes them just because they fucking showed up. I've also got tomorrow night to look forward to, not to mention Bob Mould who is finally resurrecting material from Zen Arcade OTHER than "Chartered Trips".

listening to the stream right now... good stuff. i'm not a huge dino jr fan - i'd go as far as to say i don't really "get" them - but i'm enjoying this set. fun soundtrack for the BOS-LAA game.

and for those who balk every time someone says that DC doesn't dance - from mr mascis: "i always forget how still people are here in DC"

i've seen dinosaur jr in both new york and baltimore, and the crowd has been just as still as any dc show. though i'm not arguing his observation, since for the most part... true.

thank god. we're not at dinosaur jr shows to dance like fucking retards and interfere with everyone else's purpose for being there: enjoying the tunes and having decent views of the band. RACK DC for having the courtesy to think of other's enjoyment of the show. if I wanted a bunch of fucking assholes moshing to radio hits and acting like selfish pricks, I'd go see shows in philly.

edit: Yes, I get the "not moving" take, but my thought remains the same.

Well I don't know what Lou was trying to say but DC crowds are pretty tame....THere's different reasons for it but when you go to shows in DC the crowd hardly ever really seems into it and seems to have a tough time cutting loose... People just kind of stiffly stand around and gawk..

Of course there are a million exceptions but in general DC is not artists favorite place to play..Partly I think people around here are fairly conservative...Partly we seem to have this "YOU show me what YOU can do for ME and I'll see what I do..." attitude....You also see this attitude on the part of the crowd at Nats games... We're no Cardinals fans I'll say that...

Sometimes I wonder if it has to do with the transient nature of people being in this town... Most 20somethings at shows in DC are not from DC and dont necessarily identify with DC.. They are always going to be Eagles fans or Steeler fans... they stay in town for a while and then seem to move out... In other towns you have more of a sense of community

I love DC by the way but these are things I've noticed in the past 16 years going to shows here.
