Probably too pedestrian for you beer connoisseurs but I love this year's Celebration Ale from Sierra Nevada!

So I brewed a clone of this, no fresh wet hops, but damn if it wasn't delicious
free pour to anyone who can make it to Arlington in the next week before this keg is kicked

blast from the past: found some Sweet Repute, a re-released "Wheat wine Style Ale with Maple Syrup Aged in Bourbon Barrels" from Founders.  i vaguely remember enjoying this beer several years ago so took a chance on it.  gawdang it's delicious.  borders on a desert beer and i'm generally not a sweet beer guy but this one works for me.  could use just a tad more bourbon flavor IMHO, maybe i'll add a few drops to the next bottle i drink.

We just finished a 32 oz growler of Sir Isaac's BCBS. Took two days.Quite excellent. Price the same as a pint bottle. Best BCBS variant I've had in years.

Just popped in to BabyCat. Very chill, relaxed vibe...crowded for a Sunday night. Maybe its the opening surge. Will definitely return. Beer is quite serviceable but nothing special.

I was hoping this would say that they were going to start making exclusive, large shipments to Dominion Wine and Beer in Falls Church, VA. And Dominion would be selling the beer at the same price as at the brewery.

last night the DC Homebrewers club met at Other Half.  attendees got tours of the facility from the head brewer, drank fresh IPA that was headed for canning the next day, and their cellarmaster pulled samples of barrel-aged stout and barleywine.  all this for the price of free.  as i've suggested before, you should follow their page even if you're not a home brewer - anyone can join and attend.  not all of their monthly meetings are quite as cool as this past one, but they're always fun


somewhat related: Denizens is having a bottle share this saturday, with free tours and tastings.  sounds like they're trying to make it a monthy'ish thing.
