and I had a coney island root beer thing beer.  horr, ible.  like really, man.

It's good as a mixer with a middle shelf rum, like a 8 year old Bacardi.
I can see why Alchemy & Science/Boston Beer purchased it from Schmaltz.  It goes with the lighter, sweet shandy stuff they make with The Traveler (which also makes good cocktails/mixers).

Sad week for craft beer lovers who shop at Whole Foods, as WF has basically fired the beer buyers at all their stores. No doubt supply and selection and service will suffer greatly.

so few thoughts
1. typically don't get my beer advice from USAtoday (that still exists?)
2. Why are they wearing their protective glasses for the sit down interview
3. 'ultra-hopped'
4. I've always wondered why more beers weren't using the nitrogen pour as a way to make something 'different' in the market.  But makes sense why it works well on porters/stouts (again why aren't more craft brewers doing this with their porters/stouts) But I wonder if a little more experimentation is needed with this. As a lot of bars have nitrogen available (maybe Guinness has a deal where the bar can't use that for any other drafts?)
5. most BA reviews say it's not that hoppy (IPA?!), tastes flat and is remarkably unremarkable
slack

Best I can tell, totally real.

I've gathered more info about a couple of beer guys in particular by reading some employee Facebook pages, but it's probably not cool to share that kind of info on a public forum like this.

the good news is this'll probably open up the market for more specialty markets and bottleshops.

More places with 30-50% markup above Whole Foods or Total Wine where you have to spend a fortune or kiss someone's ass to get the rare stuff.

Woohoo! Right on.

Not that I'm happy about shopping at a company that just shit on it's workers though.

It may be a case of what have you done for me lately, as these are the three locals I've most recently visited, but ranking the DMV breweries, I'd have to say:

1. Ocelot
2. Bluejacket
3. *Right Proper
4 through ?: Everyone else

How do you folks see it???

*Right Proper loses a spot because my bartender was wearing a Frank Turner t-shirt.

Sorry to come bursting in here with a dumb question like Mr. Kool-aid but I have to ask: Do you beer dorks like pumpkin beer? Does anybody? I see it all over the damn place, and yet everyone I talk to says they hate it. So who's buying it? Has this been discussed to death already?

women, are buying it . . . lots and lots of women, in pajama parties while oogling at the pizza delivery guy who seems to be too darn cute to just be a pizza delivery guy.
