Two things I learned from going to Rehoboth/ Dogfish Brewpub on Sunday:

1. All of the rare beers that they tap on Friday night are gone before the start of Sunday lunch.
2. Americans really, really, really need to start working out more.

I can vouch for Dale's and Stone's Levitation.  both are very, very good.  Tho I think Stone isn't thought of too highly around here.

By "around here" do you mean people on this board, or people in DC metro?

Rick's in Alexandria recently had an ipa tasting contest. It wasn't blind, so you knew which was which. I think the results were:

1. Firestone Walker Union Jack
2. Heavy Seas Loose Cannon
3 and 4. Port City IPA/Sierra Torpedo (can't remember which was where)
5. Victory Hop Devil
6. Stone IPA

Stone only got something like 4 out of 100 votes. Now I'm not the hugest Stone fan, but it still seems like there was some purposeful Stone hating going on. Port City IPA better than Stone IPA? Puh-leeze.

And for the record, my wife and I both contributed to the winner's tally.

Most beer by Starr Hill is pretty average, imo.

However, their Double Platinum IPA is excellent, if you like to be overwhelmed by hops. They claim an ibu of 180.

That's why I only trust blind taste tests. I don't even trust myself to be unbiased.

That sounds like a nice event. But not for vegetarians like us. 

My local Whole Foods ins having a local beers blind taste test on Saturday.

The Whole Foods in Fairfax has a keg of Founders Devil Dancer they're planning on tapping soon.




And did I mention this already? Forgive me if I already did. Initial beer list tomorrow, I guess.

Back again! This year even bigger and better. All July long every Paradiso location will be pouring nothing but IPAs on draft. Come try Domestic IPAs, International IPAs, Black IPAs, Imperial IPAs, Wheat IPAs and IPAs not normally in DC.

That sounds like a nice event. But not for vegetarians like us. 

you might call them up and see if they can cut you a break since you won't be eating their expensive meat offerings... $5 for desert only or something like that.
