Weird...I really liked the novelty of it last year.  I mean, I'll still drink it, but it kind of loses some of the fun.

Apparently they are planning on making it a year round beer, but putting it in 32 oz bottles instead of six packs. Booo.

Will you be wearing leather as well walky?

Well, that's four for a bottle share. Shall we start a separate thread, email chain, google circle, facebook event, something else?

We had our first of the year tonight. Unfortunately, we both agree/ huge disappointment this year.

More hate for this year's batch. I hate to say it, I'm not surprised.

Hey folks, get your craft beer for the Big Game at Safeway!

And no, Redhook is not craft. 32% owned by ABInbev.

craft beer for the masses

there's an interesting article in today's post on the US beer industry... seems to be a duopoly... real craft beer accounts for 3% of the market apparently ( Yuengling and Sam Adams account for another 3%)

i really hope the justice dept doesnt let ABinbev finalize its purchase of Modelo Corona although the whole thing is really twisted as it is...

Great.  I said i wouldn't but I did break down and buy some.  Even after I'd heard that last year's batch (which I didn't buy) was worse than the previous one.

d-u-m-b, I am.

We split a 12 oz bottle of Firestone Walker Double Jack and a 12 oz bottle of Green Flash Palate Wrecker last night.

And the winner, by unanimous decision, was Double Jack.

Which is cool, because the four pack of that is cheaper as well as year round.

Next matchup is Double Jack vs. 2013 Hopslam. The Hopslam is a month younger, but I still have my $$ on Double Jack.

so who won?  i hope you made allowances for freshness ("flag on the play: sipping of a two-month old IIPA...")

i got a sixer of sucks, and i can't say that i'm blown away.  quite tasty but i wouldn't raise a fuss over the stuff.
