Weekend beer roundup:

Snallygaster was fun, even with just the basic ticket. Lots of good beers.

Denizens and Astro Lab were about what you guys said they would be.

More like 4 ounces, shared. If it's really good, I go grab a second four ounce pour.

funny, when I pay like $50 to go to one of these fests, I make sure I drink about 60oz of beer minimum

It was $65 and I drank my fair share. I don't really keep ttrack of how much I consume.

The way I look at it is...$65 is the same as $50 in a bar when you factor in tax and tip. You're drinking 4 ounce pours of premium beers, which can run you $4-$7 at Churchkey. So you probably need to consume about 30-50 ounces to break even.

The beauty of Snallygaster is that you have 400+ beers to choose from, far more than you do at any craft beer bar. Many of them from breweries that you just don't see on an everyday basis, even in beer rich DC.

I have cans of The Other One sitting in my fridge, but I haven't had one. They were also pouring it at Snallygaster but I don't remember if I had it.

Reciprocal and Substance are top notch.

Fun fact: The owner of the Answer, An Bui, is the brother of the owner of CLAG. Hence, the collaboration.

When did I say I didn't?

The good thing about drinking from 2-6 is you sleep through the worst of the hangover. I was completely fine when i go up in the morning. Or maybe it means I don't get as drunk as I did in my youth.

There's a couple of DIPA's and one TIPA from hot shit hazy brewer Fiden's on tap right now at Other Half DC.

Buyer beware though, they want $14-$15 for a full pour and $6-$7 for a four (five?) ounce pour.

"new" brewery alert: Lost Generation Brewing Company is having its grand opening this saturday (although it appears they're already open for business...).  located in the no-mans-land that is the area between NoMa-Gallaudet and Rhode Island metro stops on the red line, and a 10 minute drive to the clarb.  2 of the 4 owners/founders/brewers are women, if that matters to you.

Two-thirds of the founders of Denizens were women.

in case anyone is so uncool as to still care about BCBS: https://www.binnys.com/blog/post/bourbon-county-stout-2022-preview---barrel-to-bottle-samples-the-full-slate

Coffee is back after a five year absence. I may have to seek out a pour.
