What I learned from the opening ceremonies is that is that do enough Charity work for a a country no one's ever heard of and they make you honorable citizens so you can compete in the olympics.  rich people...

In 1964 A group of cross-country skiers from Mongolia traveled to the Olympics, unaware of any application process. They were allowed to compete.
