There were new chapters in the Star Wars universe coming from a mile away — Disney Plus’ Rogue One prequel series, the Obi-Wan miniseries, the new Clone Wars show Bad Batch, and the rumored Boba Fett spinoff from The Mandalorian — but Lucasfilm loves a surprise, and the company had one for fans on Thursday at Disney’s 2020 Investors Day.

Patty Jenkins, whose next film, Wonder Woman 1984, will land in theaters and HBO Max on Dec. 25, will direct Rogue Squadron. You heard that correctly: The Rebel Alliance squadron founded by Luke Skywalker during the original saga timeline, carved out with plenty of EU over the years, will hit the big screen in a “future era of the galaxy,” according to Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy. The film is due at Christmas 2023.

Only two are 2 full length movies, the rest are short series to keep people subscribed to Disney+ in between Mandalorian seasons.  Judging by there subscription numbers, they're on to something here.

Might their subscription numbers be artificially inflated by coming with most Verizon plans? I have Disney+ and have for, IDK, 9 months. I think my wife and I have watched it for a combined three hours.

You know Verizon pays D+ for that privilege right?  And if most Verizon subscribers like yourself don't use it...

...then Verizon will take that into account and stop paying for it in the future as it is not a differentiator to much of their client base leading to massive subscription drops for D+ when they do? Yes, that’s my point.

Should have been posted yesterday...alas

spotted at the National Air and Space Museum

This full-sized X-wing Starfighter was used in filming of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” flown by Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron. It is undergoing conservation in our Mary Baker Engen Restoration Hangar and will go on display at the Museum in DC in 2022
