6.0-6.9: Has its moments, but isn't strong

A score of 6.X is hardly much of a recomendation.

I was referring more to this idiot's review, as well as his general condecension toward alt-country.
so you're making a sweeping generalization based on a sample size of 1....and you call yourself a statistician....

Unless of course it's from the French judge, at which point the Canucks will start belly-aching about it.

I really like that Willard Grant Conspiracy disk that he shat upon.

"Being There," Wilco's last "alt-country" album only got a 6.8. I still think this is Wilco's best album.

They signed with Epic this week.  $2.7 million.

And they're apparently featured in Time this week:

Damnit, I knew I should have jumped off the bandwagon last week.  At least none of y'all know me.

Well, I just returned from the Dupont Olsson's...apparently, they neglected to put a CD on hold for me.

There was one CD on hold for another person and they had the "Darts of Pleasure" EP. After listening to the helpdesk staffer apologize, she put me down for a copy to be transferred from another store...so it may be in tomorrow.

I just did a "reserve a copy" for Borders. If they have a copy in stock, I'm getting it there and someone can PM me for my last name to up the Olsson's copy.

You mean they sold 7 copies just this morning?!?!
[Isn't that the store that was getting 8 copies in today?]

Holy crap; they're not playing here any time soon, so I'm in no rush, but this is crazy....

 Which Borders?

Hey, I went to the in-store and bought her cd based on seeing an ad for her in-store in the City Paper, as well as a tip from someone on the Fulks Board.

If I had known she was getting hype, I probably would have been contrary and avoided her ass.

Nellie McWeirdo... (just my opinion, the write ups on her are inexplicably positive...)

She's an excellent piano player, is clever with her wordplay, has a finger on the pulse of poular culture, a good jazzy singing voice, has cool, diverse influences, and according to Groudskeeper Willie, is totally fuckable. Plus, she's a bit sarcastic and snide. What's not to like?
