That's not what the article says. The article says they heard a "commotion". Not the same thing at all. Let's try to reserve judgment without knowing exactly what they heard.
Actually, the article does say that:

Apple employees next door.
And the article says they heard "the commotion" not "a" commotion as you indicate.
The real question is does the article reflect what actually happened? I'd take your beef up with the author of the article not GGW, who simply quoted it
verbatim.
