Sorry, young people are a nuisance because the majority of them could care less about the music. Except when a hit song is being played they are busy just bopping around, talking during all the songs, busy taking pictures with their camera phones or calling their friendâ??s at home letting them listen to the music. For the majority of them it is more about being seen than listening to the music. It is just an annoyance when you are there for the music.
Last, I had bought tickets through the pre-sale and had seats BBB (2nd row) pit. Show up and it was GA Pit. Donâ??t really think this was fair considering I thought I had a seat. Would have procured tickets above the pit so I could sit and see rather than have to be down there with a bunch of annoying teenagers (see above). Does anyone know when/why they changed the set-up. This really annoyed me and put a damper on the evening for me.
a few comments. one i am 30 years old, closer to 31. a friend called me on her cell phone during maximo park because i was caught in traffic. i was ecstatic! it was the one band i wanted to see, but unfortunately just didnt make it.
second, since when is morrissey playing smaller venues than the killers? i just saw him last year at radio city music hall and before that over at the apollo. while the apollo isnt as big as the venue of merriweather, over the nights morrissey played radio city (to sold out shows repeatedly) his fan base is still solid! do you think the killers can play 2 weeks or so at the apollo to all sold out shows? yeah, i dont think so. brandon can only wish one day he'll have as much talent as morrissey!
third -- get used to young people at these venues. killers are all over the radio on most stations. i heard them on 3 different stations on the drive to merriweather. ive used cameras/cell phones to take pics as well. im a fan, i enjoy the music and i want memories. i did get a keane setlist, and i was so happy i nearly kissed the sound guy! yeah even at 30 this stuff is as fun as it was when i was seeing shows at 15!
lastly, there were plenty of seats open outside the pit. i was sitting next to a guy in row O (its about 8 rows up), who had a pit bracelet on. he was told by merriweather staff to sit wherever there was an open seat if he didnt wanna be in the pit. so look around next time! and most people who had pit tickets for a killers show, surely wouldnt have been sitting down.
and there had better NOT be seats when i see coldplay in the pit section.
