So are you making to Vancouver for Taylor’s last date on the Eras tour

it would make me dad of the year with the household pre-teen constituency, unfortunately the budget doesn't allow for such extravagance... if anyone has access to tickets that won't compromise my ability to make my upcoming mortgage payment, please lemme know!
I mean, if you get one less bag of Doritos a week for then next 10 years, you might be able to afford one ticket
This also has positive BMI effects.

Welp I guess you don’t love your daughter and will have to live with this stain the rest of your life

Some interesting stats
Pollstar predicted  the tour would bring in $2.2 billion
Between tickets, travel, outfits and lodging, the average Swiftie spent $1,300 per show, Wp estimated

it's because of the trump economy that i couldn't afford tickets

when biden was at the helm, everything was awesome.  now that trump has won, every single aspect of my financial situation is in the toilet.  i long for the days of bidenomics!!!

Michigan went 4-0 over Ohio State in football during the Biden era. Might be onto something.

Who are you kidding? It's his son who wanted to go. His daughter is too busy taking care of the reptile.

i believe this is new, will self-flagellate and dedicate myself to a life of silence, celibacy and shame if not:

Steve Winwood
The Filene Center at Wolf Trap
9/20

Oh it’s new all right. I just can’t believe anyone thinks he can still draw that well… in NY, for example, he is playing Capitol Theatre

Yes was an "identity band" - people's self-perception was wrapped up in their fandom (a common trait/flaw of prog rock band, RE: rush, tool, etc).  plenty of 50-somethings and 60-somethings with disposable income and a desire to relive their best years - or at least get a fleeting taste of them.

aww crap, my bad - i posted jon anderson immediately before steve winwood.  my snot-addled brain (thanks to influenza A) got them scrambled.

i'm back on board with hutch: not sure who is filling these large venues to see winwood.

My wife's cousin is roughly 13 years old than her and I.  He's a big music guy, but not my kind of music guy.  He told me he cried when he saw Santana RECENTLY (I would to, but probably not for the same reason).  he was actually in an early version of Hootie & the Blowfish.  Apparently he quit because they weren't "serious" enough.  I'm told he's mentioned in a Pop Up Video.

Anyway, years ago he came up to me at a family event and asked if I had heard of this great band he was getting into...Collective Soul.  My wife to this day will bring up how amazed she was at my poker face: "Ah, yeah sure, those guys, etc. etc."

let the trolling continue:

Collective Soul & +LIVE+: SUMMER UNITY TOUR, with Our Lady Peace and Greylin James Rue

man, I don't think we have the budget to send you to all these shows

maybe we should ask Seth if he'd be willing to fund your torture?

One time I was talking to a guy I knew about soul coughing and I went off about how much I hated soul coughing

I guess I said some song by them I hated….
Man you should have seen the disdainful look on this guys face when he said “that’s collective soul!!”   Oopsies

I believe my first time at merriweather they opened for Natalie Merchant…but it could have been another craptastic band…

OMG this is actually the seed of a really genius idea. Seth should set up a scholarship fund for wayward boardies to attend concerts.

Reminding people about this thread…. 🧵

Take your bullshit here

Also the fact is the Sex Pistols existed before Rotten and after.

Now you can say they aren’t THE Sex Pistols but I actually think it will be cool…

It’s true that Rotten was the change agent but you can’t discount the songs. We know Jonesy and Matlock were important. We also know it was Jonesy’s band in a way it never was Rotten’s band.

I really think we are lucky Lydon is out cause he just couldn’t sing these songs. Already in 1996 he was struggling and that was nearly 30 years ago! He is better suited for singing the PiL stuff.
