When reality reflects The Onion (redux)

the original WRRTO threads appears to have been the victim of a spam purge... shed a tear, keep a memory, and let it rise again anew.

Tonight I'm gonna workout like it's 1999....

Scientist: Tae Bo workout sent skyscraper shaking

Seventeen people performing a vigorous Tae Bo workout caused tremors that forced the evacuation of a South Korean skyscraper earlier this month, the building's owners say.

Prime Group, owner of the 39-story TechnoMart commercial-residential high-rise in Seoul, said 17 middle-aged people were working out to the pop song "The Power" by Snap on July 5 when their movements set the upper floors of the tower shaking for 10 minutes, according to a report from the Korea JoongAng Daily.

http://dcist.com/2011/07/bicycles_and_babies.php

Dupont Circle is closed by police--cop cars, bike police, fire truck, ambulance all blocking traffic because of an incident between a bike commuter and a car commuter.

Oh shit! Did the car run over the bike? No.

There is some bike/car skirmishing in traffic between some dude on a sick ride with fenders, kinda dutch style and a crappy blue Honda--but no contact. The woman in the car curses out the biker for crusing [sic] around between cars and being in her way. He curses back. Then she really starts cursing him out, screaming and yelling, following him around the circle in traffic telling him to go f*ck himself the whole time. She's yelling so forcefully and aggressively that her water breaks. She goes into labor. And biker calls ambulance to take her to hospital to have her baby.

That is all.

Neo-Nazis tricked by T-shirt that changed message after it was washed
http://thenextweb.com/shareables/2011/08/10/neo-nazis-tricked-by-t-shirt-that-changed-message-after-it-was-washed/

Attendees at a nationalist, right-wing concert in Germany were duped into wearing souvenir T-shirts that at first bore a pro-nationalist stance and symbology but later revealed an anti-far right message offering assistance after they had been washed.

The t-shirts originally read ?hardcore rebels? and sported a skull and nationalist flags. However, once the garment had been washed, the shirt revealed a new message that offered to help far-right extremists break away from the neo-Nazi scene.

The message reads:
?If your t-shirt can do it, you can do it too ? we?ll help you get away from right-wing extremism.?

The t-shirts were handed out to around 250 at a ?Rock for Germany? concert in Gera by organisers, who received them anonymously. The group that provided them was EXIT, a help group that assists individuals that wish to break away from far-right collectives.

The organisers were unhappy at the stunt, branding it a waste of money. Bernd Wagner, EXIT?s founder, said the shirts did what they were meant to do; reach right-wing extremists contemplating getting away.

This story makes it in this thread on two accounts:

1) The 'claim'. (That I'm not buying.)
2) The amazing writing skills of the 'journalist'. Way to go, AP!  ::)
