It was perfection. If you weren’t there tonight, get there tomorrow.

I don’t know how a show gets better than that…I just don’t

I don't think it does... I could've watched a few more hours of that performance.

Separately, I spent the whole day down in that part of town (Audi Field/Nats area/Wharf) and that was my first exposure to DRUMPFs protection of our fine city. Going to be a sad/scary day when an 18 year old that's scared shitless fires on a mob of people. Dude's hardly through puberty everywhere holding machine guns. Sigh.

Echoing the sentiments on David Byrne. Joyful. Life-affirming. Totally one of those performances where you walk out of there wondering how and why more people can't just find harmony both musically and in life with a little more grace. Cliched as it may sound, I felt like I walked into a room full of love. Walked out of there and ran into friends I haven't seen in like 15 years. Performances like that stay with you. They're nurturing. Also an A+.

I went to the Jayhawks. First set was ok, second set was very good.

Sounds like I missed out  on David Byrne. At least I was at the smaller venue, and  got a spot on the upper rail where i wanted to be. And I've seen Byrne before.

It’s okay, Space. You should really watch (as I have) some of the YouTube videos of the show. I’ve told some people it may be the best concert I’ve ever seen - out of ~500 shows…

Were the Talking Heads among those 500?

Wondering how last night's show compared to prime Talking Heads years.

And yes, plan to seek out Youtube highlights.

Stop making sense tour was 42 years ago….December 1983… so that was a while ago…. Not sure who saw that…their last tour I believe …having watched the movie I thought this was equally impressive..

The visuals and musicians/dancers choreography are what make this particular show special. Also, Byrne still sounds really Byrne.

Can confirm!
It was more than just a concert.  Truly a multi media spectacle-performance art with dance and choral emphasis.... and the theme for the evening, in Byrne's words- "Love is the New Punk Rock".  What a wonderful experience!

Space will find a rationalization on why his decision to see the jaycocks was better than Byrne... just let it go.

I had never seen the Talking Heads or David Byrne. Definitely a bucket list performance for me. 22 songs including 12 TH hits.

A friend of mine at the show said it was his very favorite David Byrne show, including the times he saw Talking Heads. He said that this tour is a culmination of everything...that all roads led to this. And my friend has pretty flawless taste, so I trust his judgment. For whatever that is worth.

For anyone who hasn't seen AIR's current Moon Safari tour yet, if you enjoyed David Byrne, I highly recommend that. It's more of a lunar art installation light/movie life-size diorama set to euphoric cosmic jazz, but to me it creates the same sense of wonderment, joy, and humanity. That's coming up next Tuesday at MGM.
