I think the Metro Gallery was the wrong venue for Loop....would have been better at the Ottobar.

I went to see Queens of the Stone Age w/ Warpaint on Thursday in San Francisco. All I can say is that I hope they finally announce something close enough in the area because I think a lot of you would really enjoy it. It was easily one of their best performances, and I've seen them a lot. "...Like Clockwork" just gets better and better. For as much as I enjoy their earlier work, the best songs of the night were things like "I Appear Missing" and "Kalopsia". And "I Wanna Make It Wit Chu".

I preferred Jowe Head/Fleeting Glimpses "Vertical Slum>Full Moon in my Pocket>Mother Sky" to Loop's "Mother Sky." Solid Loop set but yeah they definitely cut a song or two from the usual setlist.

Agreed.  Stage is way too low and those pillars make things tight.

I have often wondered why they don't raise the stage a foot or two.  They definitely have the ceiling space...

As a venue of that size, I didn't mind it at all. My only gripes: sound was just OK. I've been spoiled lately I guess. And the merch line was kind of ridiculous. But I would definitely see another show there. I don't think the QOTSA show was even sold out though. Which makes me think maybe a venue like Merriweather or even Patriot Center would be too big for them to headline.

Wow that was a cold noise show last night... Hey promoters, save the outdoor shows for May and beyond!

The wind was killer! It was still worth it!

hahaha. I wish I was at that show, sounds it was a really cool night!

In his intro, the Windup Space guy mentioned it was too bad there were
two good shows in Baltimore yesterday. Chicago Underground was good,
although with a very small crowd, and no one bothered to ask for an encore.
(short night - 60 min. - no opener). but seated and warm!

It was really fun.  Too bad about the cold - but we survived.

You guys complain too much.  The Metro Gallery is nicer place for sold-out shows as there are less people per square foot.  Plus it is cleaner. I never had problem seeing anyone there.

But you're also pretty tall so sight lines may not let be as much old an issue.

Their couches were nice. Gotta give credit there.
