Of course the entire blame, once again, falls on the Republicans for getting us in the problem in the first place. as usual.
This, I can agree with.

obama said he'd close gitmo and he hasn't.  at least he's on record as saying he would, and he could be held obama hasn't accomplished half of what he said he would.  but my bigger fear is romney/ryan being given a chance to accomplish half of what they say they will.  having to choose the lesser evil sucks, but it's a valid choice.

LOL He hasn't done a damn thing except make us even worse off than ever before.  He "saved' us by passing a horrid bammycare package.  He has been redistributing the wealth, typical libtard "throw someone else's money at a problem and it will be fixed" attitude which NEVER works.  He promised to lower unemployment or he would not run for re-election, we see how big a lie that was.  The man and his cronies were in total control for two years and did nothing worthwhile for this country.

the two years you speak of, once Ted Kennedy died, the democrats could not block the fillibuster.. the Republicans in the Senate fillibustered 276 times! The previous record for a session had been FORTY. Republicans by the way have really screwed up the country with this insane use of the fillibuster because should they ever win control of the Senate- looking unlikely due to their attempt to cater to the rapist constituency- they are going to get the same treatment....

It is a big myth that President Obama could do whatever he wanted for two years. But don't let the truth stop you from lying ratbastard.

Always an excuse...

Yeah, and you know what excuse always is? The same darn one! The Republicans!!!!!!

I notice you don't address the substance of what I wrote.. typical.

LIAR!

If there had been substance I would have addressed it! :)

oh i don't know.. i think its pretty substantive that republicans went out of their way to do everything they could to torpedo President Obama's agenda... remember that Obama was elected by a landslide and had majorities in both houses and still, resorting to the filibuster so very often, the republicans basically did not allow him to do what he though was best for the country..or what the people had elected him to do.

you can laugh it off..but the republicans have set the precedent for making the country ungovernable here on out. no laughing matter.. at least that is the way i see it..

Welcome to politics in the USA as it has been since day one.  There is absolutely nothing new about one party pushing as hard as they can to have their win every possible vote and to minimize the results of vote they cannot win.  Both sides have been playing that game forever.  Neither the reds nor the blues have a corner on that market.  Spin it all you want, both sides play that game and have been.

Had Barry spent as much time on the real issues in this country as he did trying to make a name for himself as a saviour by passing that health care crap, we would be a lot better off.  He and his cronies got that passed.  They could have done the same with meaningful legislation had they chosen to address those issues as a priority rather than shoving that socialist program down our throats.

On a side note, I am not close to one of those right wing nut job "America love it or leave it types" but it kicks ass that we can sit here and openly discuss these issues.  In many countries, at least one of would be in jail for expressing such opinions.  So no matter how much we agree or disagree on any particular issue, I sure as hell am glad that I live in a place where all of us can have our say openly and freely...  (Even Walky, LOL)

You too are fucking nuts for bickering that early in the morning.

With that said, sure the Republicans tried to get in the way of Obama's agenda but he should have realized they would do that from the getgo rather than try to play nice for the first six months of 2009. If he would have come out swinging rather than try to cut deals with the Republicans, things might be different right now.

OK i'm back up again and ready to go.  ;D

The above is true. Unfortunately running on the hope and change, hug across the aisle, and there are no red states and blue states lets all kumbaya meant it was hard to turn into "I'm going to ram these things down your throats and I don't care what you think.."

Obviously the President has made mistakes.. The biggest is that he's just not been an effective salesman for his health care reform or much else. Just not a great communicator with the American people.. I mean I love him but he doesn't have to convince me.... The second biggest is that he didn't really create an effective jobs program.

But none of that makes the prospect of a Republican win in November any more palatable...and the fact remains that under his administration we got our man (Bin Laden) and the affordable health care act is the law of the land with a nice validation by the Supreme Court.. that ain't nothing.. certainly more than you can say for former president George W. Bush.

In any case, we are where we are.. we can't go back in time and get Hillary Clinton elected. We have what we have and if President Obama is defeated in November things are going to go backwards muy rapido.

no one has ever played it like the GOP has for the past 4 years.  no one.

"the single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president." - mitch mcconnell (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-A09a_gHJc).  so the GOP hasn't been focused on job creation, or security, or healthcare reform: their only focus has been "avenging" the embarrassing beating they took in 2008.  the GOP have purposely been holding back on economic recovery because "Obama might get credit for any improvements" (someone said that, can't find it at the moment) and thus increasing his chances of reelection.

to me, the GOP's behavior over the past 4 years is treasonous and impeachable.  they were elected to govern and serve the public interest but instead they've been blindly opposing the president out of childish spite.  democrats found ways of working with GWB (who had a weak to non-existant mandate from the people).  republicans have been been enable to work with obama (a president who was elected in a landslide).

So true.. unfortunately Republicans are just blinded to the reality .. probably due to all their foaming/frothing blocking their line of vision... Look at the guy in Pennsylvania who spoke in public about how great it was they were going to be able to keep people from voting this year to help Romney win Penn....look at all the Republican governors trying to desperately cut down on voting hours! I mean, seriously, don't we already have the lowest voter participation rate of any industrialized country and we want to make it HARDER for people to vote? And we want to do this 77 days before the election???

I mean shit when President Obama does something I don't like I call him on it just like anybody but Republicans don't care what it takes to bring down a democratically elected President...

Ratbastard is so cavalier about the 276 filibusters but it basically means the country is ungovernable..that is not good for the United States whether you are a democrat or republican.

sorry walkie.
