Happy Welsh Music Prize Day to all who celebrate it!

also, I'm listening to one of the nominees Breichiau Hir and they have a track marked as Explicit.  Guess I need to brush up on my Welsh swear words

Probably the most out-of-nowhere hyped band since The Knack. I have yet to listen to them.

Mike Peters of The Alarm has won the Welsh Music Inspiration Award at this year’s Welsh Music Prize ceremony.

which is nice as he had a serious bout in the hospital recently
looking like back on the road to recovery!

They are not as terrible as my 15 year old says they are, but they're still pretty bad.

The Adwaith (Welsh for Reaction) album is really growing on me, solid solid post-punk with a dash of shoegaze/dream pop going on here.

There it a twitter listening party replay for Bato Mato I need to check out

crossed posting to the potato thread, as well potatoes are involved

I stumbled upon a group that is a) almost impossible to search for and b) appear to have no web/social media presences outside of existing on streaming sites.

Was trying to figure out if a power pop band from Spain called Maryland had released a new album or not (recommended listening btw) and a group called  Whatever Happened, Maryland? came up in the search which sparked my curiosity

Well searching without quotes you get news related results, etc... with quotes all you get what is they are on all the key streaming sites..

so here is where the potatoes com in, one of the 14 tracks on their 14 minute record is called

Give It Up for POTATOES (Tulsa Tulsa Tulsa)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6rswa-aA5A

I've listened to the entire album so you don't have to, but if you want to double their monthly $potify listenership from 4 have at it... I'll just say that this sounds like a bedroom/art school  project that hutch would affectionately call hobo rock...  substances/dares may have been involved..

of course are they truly from Maryland as they do have song called "(Barely Escaped) Ellicott City" or could it be a secret boardie project..

and yes there is an ode to Pretzels as well, the record is called "Lady Cakes" along with numerous singles..

I've listened to the entire album so you don't have to
these sacrifices have been noted, but they are self-inflicted
