SF should have elected to kick off in OT. The team with "last ups" basically has four downs to make 10 yards.
each team has 4 downs to make 10 yards... it's sorta the foundation of the game.
True, however if the team receiving the ball first luckily scores 1st, team number 2 will get 4 downs no matter what vs. Punting.
That's what I was getting at. Also, if Team 1 scores seven, Team 2 has the option to go for a two point conversion and then there is never a third possession.
