Does Avril still have fans?

She put on a pretty good show at KIIS FM's Wango Tango show in LA two weeks ago.  She's got some motherly hips and boobs now too.

I have not been the same after that.  Thank you Flaming Lips.

Sometimes it helps to know what to expect. I've only seen FL once, at MPP in 2009, and it was enjoyable. It's like a popcorn movie. You go for the ride, just as long as they don't overreach one's suspension of disbelief (e.g. 2012).

Flaming Lips are a stupid sideshow live too.

Seriously, terrible live band.
Wayne can't sing for piss live, but it's a fun show nonetheless.

And they've been milking the same set for close to a decade now too.

Flaming Lips are a terrible live band but you have seen them do sets for over a decade.  Anyway that isn't true. Their set I saw at MPP about 5 years ago was different than their sets I saw at Lollapalooza and Virgin.

You can look at a setlist and not go to a show.

The show I was referencing was at the 930 club and was in the early 2000's.

I felt that way when I saw them at the Peach Pit (After Dark).

Of Montreal is one of the best live bands in the world.

Not sure if serious.

I left midway through their set when they headlined for Janelle Monae (who stole the show). OM were awful.

Agreed.  Tool is a great example (tho I'd expect most people here to hate them).

Well if anyone looked at the setlists they would realize that the setlists now are nothing like the ones five years ago much less ten years ago. So the obvious answer is they did not look at setlists.

Why would I not be serious?  They make best live band lists from magazines.  Just because you did not like them doesn't mean they aren't great.

I would add CSS as a band that is better live than on vinyl.

are you new here?  you can ask yourself this of most of his opinions...

You can look at a setlist and not go to a show.

are you saying Tool is a kind of show that you don't need to attend, that just knowing the setlist is enough?

i must have missed these lists - could you please provide a few examples?

Pick their latest list compare to their show at Virgin Fest.  Notice differences.

And my opinion is pretty standard. People love Of Montreal live.  What is not to like.  They put on a great show.  I haven't seen them in the last couple of years but their past shows were shows for the ages.
