Mario's....that place is still open? It is like school pizza! I remember there being no bathroom haha. My dad used to to there like 40 years ago.

Gimme The Broiler pizza anyday! My dad loved that place too, even though he refers to it as the "Gag and Vomit"

I revisited a pizza place I used to go to in college recently with a friend of mine and the owner was a total jerk and we both recalled why we stopped going there. Incidentally, my friend still had the high score on an arcade game in the restaurant and started a comic misadventure to attempt to purchase and transport said arcade game without it losing power and thus him losing his high score. It was a crazy weekend with several colorful characters.

Making cassoulet today (well, and yesterday)...exhausted and I've still got 5 hours of cooking left!

An excellent first attempt, based on the reactions around the table.  I had to make some substitutions that compromised the quality a bit...number one being having to use butter instead of duck fat.  Also, I didn't use the quality/cuts of meat that would have blown this over the top...maybe I'll blow my next cash award to try it forealz.

Culinary fun fact: Almost all truffle oil contains zero truffle...it is a synthetic product

I have truffle salt from paris that is soooo good on popcorn.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good Italian food near Arlington/Crystal City?  I want to eat at nando's, but everyone else wants pasta before MCM.

We went to Alewife the night before the Baltimore Marathon. Good eats and great draft list.

Though I bet you want something closer and more fancypants.
