I didn't start it yet, but I am really excited to see it.  Preacher is such a great comic book.

Im slow at watching tv shows.  On season 4 of true blood.   Jesus, that show bit the big shitter.
I think I stopped watching after that demon lady made everyone in the town horny or something. I can't remember. It started as a cool take on racism and the idea of vampires being out in the open was cool but then it really went batshit insane and it lost me. I think that was one of the first shows I ever bought on DVD..... just season 1 though.

We binged season 2 of Happy Valley on netflix over the weekend.... in typical BBC fashion 6 great episodes and done, no filler or convoluted plot twists...

Vinyl cancelled

I know everyone on here was blinded by the musical element but it really was an awful, awful television program.

the headline for that was classic
HBO scratches Vinyl, rendering it unplayable

so I really wanted it to be awesome, but even I have no desire to watch it
I really liked James Jagger tho
and I didn't know it was mick's son until later in the season

The soundtrack was admittedly great as was some of the faux-classic bands. The story, though, was a steaming pile, the characters were utterly uninteresting, and the plot basically consisted of Bobby Cannavale pretending to do coke and yell "the music man! the feelings!" Oh well, classic "better concept than execution" example.

I guess we know what time slot the new David Simon series is getting. . .

I knew it was in trouble when the Mrs stopped watching.  I enjoyed most of it, but yeah, it had a lot of holes.  I basically watched the last 3 episodes just to see if Olivia Wilde got naked.  I'll just assume punk music wins out in the end...

Did that ever happen?

Episode 6, but not to occur again, sadly.

Pitchfork Weighs in on the Vinyl Cancellation

Money shot: "?Vinyl? thought it was clever, fictionalized historiography, but it was actually rusty old rock ideology clad in retro aesthetics, designed for a recap-friendly, reference-spotting audience who could skim past more cumbersome political realities and who don?t care much for character depth. Rock as an idea might keep devising ways to maintain mainstream relevance, but music fans should be grateful that HBO took ?Vinyl? out of circulation."

Last nights GoT was like watching a movie. The whole episode was gorgeous to even just look at. By far the most epic episode in the whole series. They did an amazing job tying a lot of the storylines together and leading into a massive showdown for next season. Very excited to see how this all plays out.

I was actually a fan of the Starks last night. First time since Ned died.

I'm sorry, Amy Schumer at Verizon for $150?!?

CRAZY
Responding to this in this thread instead: boy, was the most recent season of this show terrible. I really enjoyed her first three seasons but this most recent one was just not funny. It felt like she'd run out of material.
