Impossible to predict this far out but track seems to have shifted West a bit which is good for Richmond and Shenandoah

Florence is small potatoes.  This is Super Typhoon Mangkhut.  In addition to packing 150mph winds and a 600-mile wide rain band, "Mangkhut" is a much cooler name than "Florence."  And that small little green thing on the left of the photo is the Philippines.

The Associated Press reports that the storm may unload 18 trillion gallons of rain on the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. “Florence’s 18 trillion gallons is as much water as there is in the entire Chesapeake Bay,” its article says. “It’s also enough to cover the entire state of Texas with nearly four inches (10 centimeters) of water.”

"Mangkhut" is a much cooler name than "Florence."

every time i see "Mangkhut" i read "megahurt", which is what this storm is putting on the region...
