I do think it's kind of both. "Sys" and "admin" are accepted abbreviations for "systems" and "administrator" obviously. "Sysadmin" is a recognized portmanteau of the two abbreviations, agreed. But "sys admin," non-combined is obviously still two valid abbreviations that make sense.

It's like arguing "sex expert" isn't a valid term because "sexpert" exists; they're both valid ways of expressing the same thing.

Not the same thing; Sexpert is not a real word, Sysadmin is.

It is not Foot Ball.  It is not Police Man.

Search for sys admin online.  Sysadmin is what comes back.

But "sys admin," non-combined is obviously still two valid abbreviations that make sense.

You can write it that way, but it is the wrong way.  That is all I am saying.

Sexpert is not a real word
Sounds like a personal problem.

^^ My entire point on commenting was in hopes someone would take the bait and comment on "sexpert" not being a real word and I could use this response. Then killsaly walked into it almost immediately. 12 year old Julian is snickering so heartily.

Solution:  Eliminate minimum wage laws so employers have to compete in a free market system to pay what employees are really worth rather than be able to pass it off as paying what the laws says they have to pay.  The minimum wage law is where your collusion lies.
