i don't know that we know vaping is bad for you.....we just don't know yet.... it can't be worse than cigs though...

frankly, i'm jealous..wish they'd existed when I was smoking more.....lots of benefits to them like not stinking up your clothes or place....

damn cigs are a tough addiction...this post is makin me want to have one and I've probably had a pack over the last year or two...

I do not think it is as simple as saying smoking ecigs is bad/good or safe/unsafe.  There is no control over them at all (whether there should be or not is yet another discussion) so if one device was to solely use 100% water based vapor (aka steam) it would seem that such a device would be harmless.  However once a manufacturer starts adding flavorings and whatever other chemicals to their products you might as well be drinking a glass full of those chemicals.  The example I gave of liquid nicotine is a good case in point.  When my dad was a research engineer for PM, the guys who handled the liquid nicotine were required to wear full hazmat suits even when they were carrying sealed containers of that crap.  Saying we don't know if smoking ecigs is dangerous when many of them use liquid nicotine is playing ostrich.  Even saying them are "less ungood" than smoking cigarettes is not grounded in logic, reason, or fact.
The NHS declares e-cigs 95% "safer" than traditional cigarettes.

Fans at a recent Jimmy Buffett show in Mansfield, Massachusetts left numerous homemade toilets outside the Xfinity Center. What is a homemade toilet, you ask? Well, according to Lt. Sam Thompson of the Mansfield police, the most common model of DIY crapper is a 5-gallon bucket lined with a foam pool noodle for more comfortable seating inside of a tent.

Again, I do not smoke.

Eating high sugar-added foods is unhealthy. Drinking a cup of arsenic is unhealthy. The fact they're both unhealthy does not make distinguishing between the relative levels of inherent unhealthiness of the two some sort of fool's errand.

They didn't poop directly in coolers? Must not be Ohio State alumni.

Well, you're right.  A little bit of cancer /is/ better than a lotta bit of cancer.

It's not "a little bit of cancer" vs "a lotta bit of cancer." Both things increase one's chances of getting cancer. One of them does it moreso by a factor of X, where X is a not-entirely nailed-down but generally agreed to be staggeringly large number.

Jaded, have you seen this: https://ironfatblog.wordpress.com/

It's a morbidly obese HAES enthusiast in her 40s who, to raise awareness of how healthy the obese are, is running an Ironman triathalon next year and a half-Ironman in October of this year. So far, her "training" updates have highlighted she is "getting used to" riding a bike and "swam in open water for the first time in her life." As someone who actually does endurance races, I thought you'd find her delusion hilarious.

can't believe I'm reading this stuff....man there is some fathatin' going on

this comment made me crack up
But it cracks me up she claims to be running when she ?ran ? her marathon at 25 min/mile. The very definition of running is having both feet off the ground at the same time. It is pretty much impossible to run any slower than 10-12 min/mile I think, right?

I don't think it's fathatin' to point out that woman is clearly selling snake oil. She is not healthy. That she makes thousands of dollars flying to "Fat Acceptance" conferences to talk about how she's an "athlete" is absurd. That people are funding her Ironman trips on her assurance she will complete it is arguably fraud.
