Some of the best musical minds have had mental health issues: Lou Reed, Brian Wilson, Amy Winehouse, Syd Barett, Marvin Gaye. I recently read a bio on Aretha Franklin. You want to talk about artists that are fucked up in the head, she's a perfect example.

Brian Wilson is a perfect example of an artist having mental health issues but not having it entail being human garbage like Kanye.

To a great many people, his string of quality albums over the past decade rivals Bowie, the Stones, Roxy, REM, you name it. You may not like his music or his persona, but that doesn't mean he hasn't made some of the best, consistently high-quality hip-hop music made by anybody.
