Am seeing Platinum tickets for Rod Stewart at $1174 apiece? $700 apiece. Did IMP throw in the towel regarding surge/flexible pricing at Merriweather? If so while understandable - how else would you have a Rod- a bit of a bummer.

It’s amazing that it’s become standard practice to announce shows 9 months prior. When you attend lots of shows it’s annoying as fuck to have all these outlays 9 months ahead of show.

I mean do people even buy plane tickets that far in advance?

Top tier classical soloists are often booked years in advance, especially if they are going to premiere a newly composed work. Existentially, I would find it fascinating to know far in advance that I'd be on a particular stage at 9pm playing a work that doesn't yet exist.

True. For some reason it’s standard with classical. Often they are not premiering new work but it’s still standard. It’s weird.

For these shows Ticket purchasers tend to be older and wealthier.
