Vas lives closer to Baltimore and last I checked, he likes the Blowtel (the actual worst venue in the city) which also is in NE but that's not an IMP venue so that's a discussion for another thread.
I just read this as "This venue isn't in walking distance to where I live and I'm afraid of NE DC."

Plus ABC violation. Wouldn't be surprised if they get a 96 hour shutdown.

Echostage did NOT suck tonight. I'm officially putting it in the hit or miss column. The sound for Belle and Sebastian was great.

Place needs A/C. It was hot in there to begin with and it was 90 and humid all day today, imagine the place fully packed with people dancing their asses off...plus $5 water bottles. I don't mind Echostage making a buck but if you're not going to have A/C make water somewhat affordable. I believe 9:30 has A/C.

excellent thread.  because if i owned a club and made $10k per night, i would totally shut it down based on what some random internet person said.

Who owns Echostage? Does Seth own a share?

sightlines aren't as important.

What is wrong with the sightlines at Echostage?

From the balcony you really can't see much if you are more than person back from the railing. And the stage is sorta low from a main floor perspective so you don't really get to see THAT much when you're stuck in the back or too far off to the side.

Seth, might I make some suggestions for improvements at Echostage please?

1. Provide free water. There is free water at the 930 and water fountains at Merriweather. Yet patrons have to pay $5 for a bottle of water at Echostage?

2. Allow taxis and Uber to actually come to the front of the venue rather than having to wait down the street at the bottom of the hill. Also, call a taxi company when a show is letting out to let them know there is tons of business to be had so there are actually taxis waiting. There were dozens of people trying to find taxis.

3. Raise the height of the stage. A foot or two would make a vast improvement for those of us that are short and/or standing further back in the venue.

4. Improve the A/C. We were standing in an area that wasn't particularly packed and it was still a sweat fest.

Thanks!

I guess the best way to enjoy the show there is to get there early.  ;D

I still thought the sound was off and we were only a row or two back. Vocals sounded like they were coming from a mile away.
