I think that was a huge part of the problem... his handlers basically gave him answers for every question and he tried so hard to repeat everything verbatim that he completely went off the rails vs. Just using his own voice.

You see, the President has a constitutional duty, among other things, to ‘take care that the laws be faithfully executed’ and within that power is the sacred  and awesome implied absolute right to willfully coerce fraudulent election results and violence in order to retain power and destroy his/her adversaries as he/she sees fit

Well he sort of retired to a monastery or whatever in Tibet…. Then he comes out and his manager had stolen all his money so he got the band back together and toured for the first time in twenty years…

While I love the song I think the current political climate is of another order of magnitude. AFAIK he wrote that song during the Reagan years….
