Lee Fields a few years back, headlined an all day event, couldn't have been more than 50 people there if that.

Hmm.... already trying to strategize where to stand with my height-challenged wife for LCD.

This brings up a question: Is the general admission floor raked or tiered? That would help tremendously, especially considering the size.

soulwax 2007....probably 15 people

On that topic, what's the most under-attended show you've seen at the 9:30? I think mine was Elextrafixion, the band that Ian and Will from Echo and the Bunnymen had before their reunion in 1997. They packed in the Black Cat in autumn of 1995, and I don't think the spring 1996 show was promoted at all. I think there were (maybe) 25 people there? Everyone that stayed was invited backstage afterwards. Super fun night.

everybody, wants to be cool.  lcd, is cool.  that guy from nirvana, is cool.  lorde, is not cool.  the, end.
Foo Fighters were never cool.

LCD Soundsystem were cool from around 2002 - 2005; a little less cool from 2006 - 2007; and definitely not cool from 2007 - present.

Lorde seems pretty cool.  I need to listen to her music a bit more to better gauge her (musical) coolness. I do dig her visual aesthetic, and would consider it pretty "cool."
Lorde seemed cool until she stated that she was channeling Bowie's spirit. I mean, I get it. We all say dumb shit in our teens. Its just now that our dumb shit is immortalized by the internet.

This is a shame.  Soulwax are great.  I dig their new album a lot.  I guess they would play...U Street?

The Mission in 2013 was probably the lowest attended 9:30 show I've seen. Maybe a couple hundred people there?

The Ticketfly link has "promo code" box, so I'm assuming so... but... again, I didn't receive an email.
