I'll never understand why we blame the venues (hotels, etc) for mass shootings, rather than the guns. Don't buy into the NRA narrative! Stunning that DC just legalized concealed carry. Sad!

Who is blaming the venue? If a venue has a policy in place to ensure the safety of their visiters, I'm all for it.

The narrative after Las Vegas was that we need to increase hotel security, NOT that we need to ban guns.  They would have you believe that hotel security was the problem, not the shooter, the weapon, the ammo...hotel security.  That's why 59 people died.  Bad hotel security.

On a more pleasant topic, are you allowed to bring in outside food?

I'd much prefer a bit of a wait to get in vs. being shot up by some pscyho, but that's just me.

They spent what over 30 years at the two 930 venues without wanding anyone down, and no one got shot up.

Menu is highly simplified. Grilled cheese and hotdogs.

One element of the security confuses me.  (Phoenix last night was my first time at the Anthem.)  All right, so you stand in the security line.  They wand you.  They scan your ticket.  They ID you.  Then they hand you a wristband to put on yourself between there and the actual door of the venue, where anyone with a wristband is allowed in.  Couldn't a person just go through the security process and hand the wristband to another person?

Beautiful venue, though.  I had a wonderful time.  I am excited to return for Queens of the Stone Age, Courtney Barnett, Morrissey (which is absolutely going to go on as scheduled), the National, etc.

Oh, and the parking garage with an elevator almost directly to the venue was nice.  I come to shows from Southern Maryland--past even Solomons Island--so I tend to just drive into the city versus Metro, and convenient parking is always a pleasure.  I wonder if the garage completely fills up the night of a sold-out show.
