Hooters is prep'ing to file for bankruptcy.

comments on twitter are what you'd expect.

"Hooters is filing for chapter 13 bankruptcy. Now if you want chicken wings and the objectification of women you have to go to any sports bar in America"

"Imagine how MAGAts would've reacted if Biden bankrupted Hooters in his first month."

"4 years of woke didn't kill Hooters, 1 month of MAGA did."

"Tough break Hooters, there’s always Onlyfans. :)"

"Hooters goes tits up."

"I saw "Hooters" trending and my first thought (no kidding) was: Who have they tapped and for which cabinet?"

etc.

Joann is going out of business, with the more than 80-year-old fabric and crafts retailer set to close all of its stores nationwide after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for a second time.

It’s going to be interesting seeing how they spin cratering the economy.

Their base will buy whatever bullshit Trump hurls but there are going to be a group of Americans that voted for him that are not going to be amused. And there are going to be the rest that didn’t vote for him -or didn’t vote at all- who are going to be livid if we are not already.

I can’t ever recall someone breaking the economy on purpose.

I hope my family is ok. My brother in law lost his job in home building about a month ago and no luck yet and he usually gets hired right away. My partner says a lot of her colleagues in public health have been let go and she works a lot with CMS. Her long term project is Medicare. My other brother in law made millions suddenly - no idea how- and seems to be a Trump supporter. He no longer really seems to work. His family (my sister that I don’t get along with) are permanently traveling to safaris, the Olympics wherever. No I am not bitter. My theory is he either made money in crypto or like he claims sold his companies which may have been crypto tangential. . Guy is a bs’er but it ain’t no bs he is now rich. Building a new house on main line or near while still living in old house. Am happy for my nieces.

A friend works in government and texted me he is “avidly” looking for work (he still has his job).

It’s not going to be easy to spin the “we have entered a new golden age” when people are losing their jobs, healthcare, Medicaid etc

blame blame blame: it's because of biden, the deep state, foreign enemies like canada and mexico, woke, DEI, the phase of the moon... anything and anyone except themselves and their actions.

there is a trend on twitter of posting vids of trumpers complaining about losing their jobs, it wasn't supposed to happen to them, they didn't vote for this, dear leader trump please ya gotta fix my personal situation,  etc.  at first it's vaguely satisfying, but ultimately it's pyrrhic... those people are not suffering alone.  i don't want to own the magats, i want a functioning and prosperous country.

My brother in law lost his job in home building about a month ago and no luck yet and he usually gets hired right away. My partner says a lot of her colleagues in public health have been let go and she works a lot with CMS.

my employer announced major layoffs this week, hundreds lost.  this week has been a write-off in terms of productivity: all work has been put on hold while people deal/process/mental health, and then figure out what the firings mean in terms of planned work, delivery schedules, new responsibilities, etc.  corporate might have saved money on salaries and benefits, but i wonder if the collateral damage was taken into account...

Yeah I don’t get satisfaction from seeing maga voters whose lives are being wrecked either. IF they realize it’s Trump doing it…
