please ensure that Julian is surrounded by towels before letting him read this news:

The Smashing Pumpkins are working on a 33-song “rock opera” sequel to Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
That’s after, of course, the alt-rockers release forthcoming double album, Cyr
Dude, I don’t buy/listen to the new stuff.

i know, but i was concerned that this callback to the last time the band was relevant would get your juices flowing.
I seem to recall both of us sitting at a bar in Philly after driving up from DC to see them like a decade after they were last relevant. . .

I saw Corgan join Roger Waters on stage for some benefit thing a few years ago. His vocals on Brain Damage were freakishly chilling, and seem to hit a little too close to home for him.

Better but still missing the hook or break!

I also heard a bit from a third track

I think this album is going to be better than Rock or Bust which I found really disappointing

Picking up on Friday at the record store

Am looking forward to Friday.   Even if half the songs don't get to be above-average AC/DC, the LP is still a welcome entry for this year.

"The Symbol Remains" is the fifteenth studio album by American rock band Blue Öyster Cult, released on October 9, 2020.

(no word on how much cowbell it contains...)

Last year I was lucky enough to catch Buck Darma (writer, singer and lead guitarist on dftr) at pearl street dive of all places
he was was fantastic
Of course the guy who played the cow bell at that show was showered with attention... kinda sad too

I mean he IS BOC
And he penned and performed some epic tunes

But on that particular song he gets all the credit and the cow bell guy is the one who is famous
