*yes, i know, i did not use "et al." properly.  like trump, i don't care.

This will have major "who the fuck cares" energy, but nowadays I just write "et alia", the gender neutral form of "et alii" (men or mixed gender) and "et aliae" (women). "Et al." often puts a period in the middle of a sentence, which is annoying (so does "etc." but that's a million times more common so we're used to it). "Et alia" is one more character and dispenses with the outdated need to use a gender-specific form.
These new Vampire Weekend songs just aren’t as catchy as the old ones.

fuck you.  i just replaced my keyboard, now i need a new one.
I was legitimately concerned no one would even get this and just think I was being non sequitur.

FCC proposes $5.1M fine against conservative activists Jacob Wohl and John Burkman for making 1,141 unlawful robocalls that made false claims about mail voting; this is the largest robocall fine ever proposed by the FCC, the agency says.

I saw this story and was giddy with glee...thanks for getting this in here
can't stand wohl and his fucked method of pollical action..glad he's getting more than a slap on the wrist
although this is not the actual penalty, just the proposed penalty

some well-heeled member of JA will likely pick up the tab, but will certainly make some people think twice before being this dishonest (doubt it... actually)

omg. The Hillsborough County Republican Party in Florida — known for its anti-vaccine & anti-mask stances — can’t access its financial data because the only guy who knew how to use the party’s campaign finance software just died from COVID-19.

Fox to Rudy: You’re banned

RUDY GETS THE GONG — RUDY GIULIANI has been banned from Fox News for almost three months. As if the sting of that weren’t painful enough, the “9/11 mayor” learned of his banishment … on the eve of Sept. 11.

Giuliani was slated to appear on “Fox & Friends” to mark the 20th anniversary of the attack. But the night before, host PETE HEGSETH called Giuliani to say he’d been cut from the show and apologize.

The ban extends not just to GIULIANI, but also to his son ANDREW, who has not been on Fox News since he launched his campaign for governor of New York in May despite many requests to go on the network. His team has been frustrated that rival GOP gubernatorial candidate Rep. LEE ZELDIN is a frequent guest.

But bookers have told both Giulianis the ban comes from the top, sources said.

SCOOP: A Texas judge has ruled default judgements against Alex Jones and Infowars in two separate Sandy Hook cases. He will now be liable for all damages and a jury will now be convened to determine how much he will owe the plaintiffs.

https://twitter.com/sebastianmurdoc/status/1443698848698970113?s=21

The ruling — which is often referred to in Texas as a “death penalty sanction” for a party unwilling to comply with court orders — is a rarity in the legal world. Jones, who is now on his seventh lawyer in these cases, had years to provide documentation requested by the court, including internal company emails
