Thankfully not all Americans are like Sidehatch

A little glimmer of positivity from our country. I wish these people the best.

You must be confusing us…. I think maybe by Sidehatch’s nom de plume “SideHutch” which he sometimes shortens to “Hutch” for some real boneheaded stuff

no, i'm pretty sure i'm keeping hutch and (side)hatch separate.  admittedly they're both really close...

i was thinking of the whole "we should help west baltimore instead of afghani translators" exchange we had.

Yeah I remember that… I happen to agree with Hutch..even a stopped clock is right twice a day

My personal belief is we should take a good amount but not a huge amount…and the ones we don’t take we would work with our allies

Defining the exact amount is difficult not being privy to any estimate but I would be looking at the 20,000 to 50,000 range but circumstances will dictate

I stand by that and am glad we are doing so!

Some seem to feel we should take as many as want to come. I do not support that view…

Seems like some bad decisions were made in considering this location for a mission trip.

Godspeed to them!!!

missed this swipe at me...thanks for coming to my defense
I'm already hosting 3 FL felons and an afghani family of 8 (I guess they don't do birth control?)

And thanks to Gov Northam for allowing 6,000 Afghan refugees arrive in Virginia, and more are expected
Haven't seen bowser or hogan do shit on this topic
Oh yeah Gov. Larry Hogan said Maryland expects to receive at least 180 Afghan refugees through the program. and will maybe take more...kinda weak sauce

I think you are mixing apples and oranges

The article was basically about Afghanis arriving but I believe most were continuing their journey

Hosting is different than welcoming

They say soon we will hit 100,000 evacuated…. It’s not clear to me what percentage are Afghanis or how many we expect to evacuate

I don’t think Biden wants to say…

Of course one should welcome any evacuees (once they are here I don’t think there can be much to argue about)

I have no idea what criteria they are using on determining who gets evacuated

I know, 1st world problems… but I love music and couldn’t imagine living without it

Taliban spokesman in interview confirmed music would no longer be allowed in public.
“Music is forbidden in Islam,” he said, “but we’re hoping that we can persuade people not to do such things, instead of pressuring them.”

No, no, its a great religion. Only Judeo-Christian religions suck; Islam and Hinduism are great and people who point out the flaws in these equally false belief structures are bigots.
