Capacity 450 (although I imagine the guest list for each of these will be close to 100)
44 shows
19k tickets

MPP capacity 19k ...so odd are about the same
I assume all the bands will be promoting the shit out of this
but that it's a new unknown venue might help in the procurement
the cure had been announced months before and there was a pent up demand
I'd just make sure you get your picks in and set your priority (I wouldn't make Foos #1 would be my advice)

yeah i put in for a few shows with the expecatations i will get none.  i didn't even get a chance to purchase cure tickets and merriweather is so much larger lol

I'm guessing Bartees Strange would be an easy get for $44.

Seeing as his show at the club was almost sold out, this won't be that easy...  He also has a local connection

I think they could have put a limit on how many shows...like 5

here were my picks
Luna, Jeff Tweedy, Yo La Tengo, Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Franz, the Pixies and the Foos.
1 would be stellar

kinda surprised me when I did math that at $44 at ticket x 450 sales is $19,800 per show  (871k total for all shows!)

Absolutely crazy list. Has any city anywhere managed to pull of something like this? I mean, maybe the Viper Room...but this is one of those instances where it feels like living in DC has really been such a gift.

Admittedly, I probably would've put in for the 44 show package if you were allowed to split/sell the motherload.

I have no discipline and put in for 12!! ayayayayayaya!

See you at all those shows. And yeah, after this push, I'm guessing the schedule will take a hard left turn to hobo shows.

Still thinking about mine but I think I am clear I have Billy Idol at 1 and X (never seen them) at 2. There are a lot of great shows.

Very good WaPo article about the new place

“There will be a pole,” Hurwitz says, “which everyone fought me on, but since it’s one of the big questions everyone asks, I’m like, ‘Well, there you go. That’s why we’re putting the pole there.’”

So is it actually $44, or is it $44 plus fees?

I guess these are the ones I would like to go to but doubt will happen. There are literally 225 pairs of tickets per show at most I think?

Billy Idol
X
Pixies
Tweedy
Luna
PFunk
Franz Ferdinand
Hot Chip
Sylvan Esso

I just saw Yo La Tengo and can’t recommend them enough.

Some of these I can’t believe are playing a 400 capacity club! I mean Maggie Rogers?

That was when his album was fresh off the pressing, and tickets were less than half of $44.

Tank and the Bangas should also be easy. They're doing a show for $10 in Richmond.

Except why on earth would you pay $44 to see Tank? Doesn't he still play free shows?

Well that's entirely my point. Some of these are not 55 dollar shows (some obviously are). Tank is doing a Richmond show for 10, 15 after fees.

And Tank is a chick, not a dude. Unless she got a sex change.

Maybe I misunderstood,  but easy still doesn't mean worth it...at any rate, if anyone would like to work the buddy system and be my +1/vice versa, blow up my inbox!
