do you like fitting in to the cookie-cutter pop-punk scene, but are always on the lookout for the next cool thing, so you can be cooler than all those who just like the big pop-punk/emo bands?

if not, and if you don't watch fuse or aren't in high school, i wouldn't be too concerned.

also, the doors are at 5pm, how do they expect hard working individuals like me to come to the show?  i guess everyone will get home before curfew.

i wonder how much of the crowd will stick around for the 10pm paul westerberg show ... i can't fucking wait for that ...

I'm not concerned, just fascinated.  I watch MTV2, MTV and VH-1 occasionally.  I read Entertainment Weekly (with the special "Listen to This" music supplement).  I've usually at least heard of these bands. Though it's true, I don't watch Fuse (where would I watch it?  I don't think it's on my Starpower basic cable) and I don't read Rolling Stone or Spin, as they lost me from their demographic....

Fascinating.  And also fascinating that the show is before the Westerberg late show.  Alas, I think I'm going to miss that in order to catch Ivy over at Black Cat.

I can't decide which one of these I want to go to. Ivy or Westerberg?

i was thinking degrassi. in any case, this show might set the record for least beers sold at the club. no wonder they booked westerberg as the late show!

hmmm... this could be a interesting double bill to dj, could almost play the same music for both shows.   for educational and amusement purposes.

I was having a hard time deciding myself, but I've never seen Ivy, and then a friend told me she went to college with Adam Schlesinger and really wants to go to the show....She never goes to shows, so it should be fun to have her along (plus I don't know who she'd get to go if not me!).

Of course you know that this ensures that the Westerberg show will be one of his best in years and years.  Because I'm not going.  So, actually, that may be the better bet for everyone but me.   ;)

Along similar lines, I'll let everyone know when I finally buy a condo -- then you'll know the bubble is about to burst!

I saw Ivy a couple of time at the 8x10 Club in Baltimore circa 1995. They were nothing special then, maybe their live show has improved. Their only true saving grace was that the singer was hot.
