i got here for much the same reason as ggw's. . .there was a link on the web page all of a sudden, i came to visit and i haven't left.

hmm... i lurked quite a bit, started posting when the Belle and Sebastian fiasco went down (one show... no, two!  no, one!)  mostly i came here and stayed when the craigslist R&R got so out-of-hand stoopid that it made my head hurt.

I had heard from staph that there were some people venting about the sound at a couple shows that I was working and had to explain why they couldn't hear and why the club was not responsible (one IIRC was a show where all the gear was the band's so the club just provided a structure to put it all in).

 Seriously, I really am a huge music fan so signed up for that reason....I initially registered to respond to a comment someone made about a show, I was defending the artist.
 
 I don't care too much for most of the bands that are talked about on here which is why I rarely get involved in those discussions....I do take mental notes on them and go check them out at B&N where you can listen to a snippet of each track, but very few have impressed me.
 
 At this point, the board has just become a nasty habit I can't kick.

 By the way, I just realized I became a member on October 2001, when David Byrne played at the 9:30. I guess I had some questions regarding the availability of tickets. Now that I think of it, I think David Byrne in 2001 was the best show I have seen in DC. I hate not to be in DC for his shows at the Birchmere in June.
