plus you already have two shorter second strikers that are 22 and 24. dont think age should matter, totally a win now buy

I too would prefer Berba now, but I could see why United might go after both given how young Silva is (and ~10M Pounds cheaper).

It's nice to have problems like these.

Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov is currently in Manchester to undergo a medical before joining Manchester United in deal worth £28 million. (Daily Mail 1525 BST)

How long does it take to iron a number and name on a jersey?

Well..........that didn't go according to plan. I bet toon are delighted to actually not get torn apart let alone snatch a point.

I'm shocked United could still managed a point when the midfield for the final 30 was John O'Shea, Darren Fletcher, Rodrigo Possebon and Paul Scholes.  That combo was so ugly, Fergie moved Oshea back to defend and Evra up front to support some kid named Rafeal, who normally plays defence...

It was almost as though Fergie was proving a point that the owners may not have been willing to part with a couple million pounds for Berbatov and he deemed that ridiculous.

 The bench was:

 John O'Shea
 Rodrigo Possebon
 Gary Neville
 Darron Gibson
 Jonathan Evans
 Rafael
 Tomasz Kuszczak

He definitely had the pace to make United's defense take notice.  He's got to worry about his reputation of being a diver though, as he clearly was gunning for a penalty on more than one occassion.  And if the entire toon fan base starts wearing spider man masks, I think it's going to be the greatest thing ever.

Sorry about my harsh comment on the phone yesterday.  I was driving from The OC back to SF and had to dwell on the draw (combined with an Angels loss) for a good 5 hours....

haha, i thought it was funny.

that reminds me toon actually didnt use a sub. might mean smith is indeed on his way out yet, as this would be the sort of game for him to be used as oba was the only healthy striker. also it was interesting that he was talking with saf before kickoff

kind of a bummer that the only goal against was while taylor was getting treatment, and right where he'd be standing. win some lose some that way, i suppose

Kind of a bummer that the only goal United gave up was a header to a 5 foot 8 inch guy...WTF?!?

Yes, seeing Alex walking out talking to Alex made me do a double take.  He's definitely gone.  And I thought the same when Berbatov was on the pine, but they brought him in eventually, unlike Smith.  I think Berbatov moves as soon as the deal for Arshavin is complete.
