tommy also said that man u hadnt had an irish player in forever and then named like a dozen during the match last leg

I remember that.  I think his comment was totally taken out of context (something along the lines of "great" or "through the ranks"), but his defense only served to confuse the issue even more.

but barca would be happy to know he has a HUGE mancrush on messi

Thankfully, he's not doing that game today.  I opted to watch Munich/Barca because I don't think I can sit through another Chelsea/Liverpool snoozer...

30 minutes in I switched to the all-England affair.  And here I thought 2-2 to Porto was bad...

According to one of the announcers, I think it was Tommy, Fergie had the option of moving the game to Saturday and chose not to.  I can't see this being true, and if it is, a very questionable decision.

its was true - sky offered to switch it to noon Sat - SAF declined because he wanted the extra rest from the midweek internationals

Been there, done that.  On many occasions, actually.  I've also gotten quite adept at covering the ESPN bottom line lately (even when I'm a guest at someone else's house).

Clever bastards:

ESPN in talks to buy Setanta
plus, setanta broadcasts aussie rules. . . .so far, i have not been able to make the sale to the wife that we need to sign up for setanta to watch aussie rules, but if it goes to espn, then i would guess that would become part of their sports package.

$15 a month to watch Aussie Rules football?  You're mad.

But yes, ESPN would move The U to where classic is, move Classic to the Sports Pack tier, change it's name and broadcast EPL, UEFA and Aussie Rules football saving all of us $15 a month.

whoah!!! now THAT was squeaky bum time!!! talk about a dream debut

I watch a lot of soccer, even delving into some reserve squad matches on MUTV, constantly read about the squad on the internet - you name it.  But I have NEVER heard of the kid, I still can't even pronounce his full name, though I can tell you this - he's my new favorite Italian footballer!
how much do you love this guy now
