He should have been callled for a penalty for tugging a shirt as the player was breaking away from him into the box a few minutes before he WAS called for a penalty - yet somehow he escapes a card for handling in the box in front of his keeper. Then he got into a spat with a fan heading down the tunnel at halftime (wonder what the fan said...).
This was only topped by his second half performance, where he earns his first yellow for a takedown that very easily could have been a red card had Alex not been ruled close to the play. Only three minutes later does he get sent off for a late tackle on Bale near the sidelines.
