""Sometimes it's like that," said Empty Bottle manager Bruce Finkleman. "Everyone at a show is standing there, arms folded, having a great time, and then someone decides to get crazy. It can kill an otherwise perfect night. Unfortunately, unless the enthusiastic fan breaks something, my hands are tied.""

If only we could find a place kinda in the middle.  The arms folded, contemplative staring stance drives me nuts when a show has some energy.  Sure, stand quietly for Sigur Ros, but for frickin' Sleater Kinney?!?  [granted, I don't stand up front anymore...I'm in the back with all the DCCD clerk-types, I guess...]

crowd was stoic at times for les savy fav last night, and the talking was REALLY loud during the opener. actually one of the worst offenders was the two guys standing next to me...who happened to be lsf's drummer and singer.

You must not have been standing where I was standing during Les Savy Fav. Crazy crowd in front! But I agree that Sam Jayne was nearly drowned out by the extremely loud talking. It was embarrassing (and infuriating). I can't say that I greatly enjoy Sam Jayne's music but it would have been nice of the crowd to extend the courtesy of attention... I enjoyed the show by LSF though.

i was a little toward the back, and i did notice that things seemed to move a ton more in the front. all of the people around me were just standing there. anywhoo, kinda liked the sam jayne stuff, and lsf was awesome

Yeah, I couldn't tell what the crowd was like behind me. (Sorry you were surrounded by robots. If they can't feel the fire at a LSF show, then all hope for them is lost.) Definitely a fun show, though. I got some good pictures and Tim was appropriately insane.  ;)  The stage invasion at the end was pretty funny. And the new songs are good!
