The novelty has officially worn off
« on: January 30, 2004, 10:51:00 am »
Any charm that snow held for me is long gone.

I just finished shovelling my ~ 100 yard driveway for the 10th time since last Friday...oh & it's -3 degrees here wind chill.

Tuesday night can't get here fast enough for me now - when I'm off to Death Valley for a LONG weekend of camping where it's 70 degrees & sunny.

 F*#* winter.

Damn, I wish I could afford a place with a 100 yard driveway!

What are you?...retarded?   :D

Since when does the access route to your domicile factor into the price?

If you were indeed the owner of a 100 yard driveway, it would be indicative of your owning more than the miniscule quarter acre lot that is typical here in DC.

One of the places I lived growing up had a driveway that was probably 200 yards. But we also owned 84 acres.

I basically have determined that I never would have survived a second in the cold and snow as the people did in the real life story depicted by the movie "Alive".

I too have shoveled umpteen times...in 50 mi winds the other day. When I went inside, my hands hurt so badly (and I wore gloves) I thought I was going to be sick.

All I'm worried about is the sweet little UPS lady that brings me occasional packages containing hard to find records. Priorities Man!

I've already eaten my roomates so I had to venture out.

A 100 yard driveway and house could fit into a lot 30 ft wide & 350 feet long. That equates to 1/4 acre.

those quarter acre lots in DC would probably go for close to a million if not higher, anyway, even if you could fit a 100 yard driveway
