Question on XM
« on: April 02, 2004, 01:34:00 pm »
When you get XM, this runs through your regular stereo system?  So I can audiotape things the way I audiotape the radio?

 Very informative and comprehensive.

Oh, you're just on my back b/c I messed up Replacements vs. Refreshments.  ;)
(I can assist more after today...gotta get downtown to see Dylan before he goes to bed. I do feel bad sending you to a site to search for what you need.)

You only need to set your XM to the frequency 88.1 on your radio and still have your other presets, you change your XM stations on the XM apparatus you buy.

Does XM have in-studio gigs or something?  If you don't mind me asking, what is it you're looking to record?

I swear by the Delphi "roadie", with the fm transmitter thingie that needs to be purchased seperately. It comes with a cassette tape adapter doo-hickey, but who has cars with cassette players these days? Come on!! 8-track in the trunk too?

The roadie is a piece of cake to install too.

Yep! Just had Wilco on this last week, which was great for Wilco fans and gave me the opportunity to scan other channels for a change.

I bought a car last year and had them put a cassette deck in it in addition to the CD player. I'm too lazy to replace all my old bootleg tapes with CDs and I still occasionally make tape comps of 7" singles.

Me too. That, and tired of gangs stealing car radios in my area.

I've got both CD and cassette.  Use the cassette for my iPod converter, and the occasional book on tape on LONG road trips (which you can check out of the library...don't have many books on CD yet).

Maybe we can pitch in and rent the space for a BigYawn event.
 Dimensions: 25 x 40 feet studio, 23 x 20 control room
Capacity: 50 people, including up to a 40-piece orchestra
Uses: Live performances, recordings for record labels and XM shows, mixing, remastering. Available for rental.
Character: The studio has a warm signature sound, simulating a chamber concert hall. The control room is a "zero-environment" space.

No need to come out in defence of cassette players...I was joking!
