I wonder if Trent had one of those artists badges on.  I saw a lot of those people but of  course I didn't know who the hell they were or what band they were in.

Never mind, looking at the picture he does have one on as you can see the red necklace thing.  Thats so funny no one recognized him.  I would have def asked for his picture if I was in that area.

So, apparently all it takes for a festival headliner to not be recognized among the people who paid $200 to come see him is sunglasses?

 How very odd

BRMC and The Black Keys were hanging out in the audience on Sunday, too.

It was pretty easy to spot Rob from BRMC since he was the only person wearing a damn leather jacket at an outdoor festival.

BRMC rocked pretty hard for gettin up so early after a night in Atlantic City, if I do say so myself.  Good to hear others enjoyed them as well.

Besides them, I only saw Iggy & The Stooges, Bob Dylan, and NIN.  Iggy was ridiculously fun to watch.  Also fun to watch Rob from BRMC dancing to them (he didn't have his jacket on yet).  Dylan...well, I suppose it's an acquired taste?  We only lasted for a few songs.  Is he a really big Peetie Wheatstraw fan or something?  NIN...fucking mindblowing.  I don't much pay attention to lights at shows and don't care for complicated bullshit....but that was just beautiful.  Pure art.

well, trent doesn't have any particular feature that make him really stand out.

if Iggy was in the crowd watching an act, you'd probably definitely recognize him.

"Probably definitely?"

I just think it's hilarious that people paid so much money to see a festival headlined by NIN, and they could have very well stood next to Trent Reznor without even noticing him.  I mean, weren't there any "hardcore" NIN fans watching Iggy that looked around and thought "hey that Trent Reznor looking fellow with an artisit badge could be Trent Reznor!"

It just seems really strange.  Maybe NIN fans aren't the most perceptive bunch.

It looks like trents at least back by the towers.  Im assuming most NIN fans were already holding spots up front.

Thanks so much for the NIN video.  I was torturing myself trying to choose between Kanye and Trent.  Thought I'd do both - start with Kanye and end with Trent -- but then couldn't tear myself away from Kanye.  This video at least gives me an idea of what I missed.

Not to make you feel bad, but I'd say that video doesn't give you a good idea of what you missed at all.  You really had to see the crazy LED screen stuff they had going on.  Like was said before, it was truly a work of art.

This is true.  I have some of those effects from Lollapalooza video if you want to see how that goes.

i'm out on this thread but i have to respond to this:

whats with the insult? you think dylan is terrible cause he don't play guitar, fine. But I think i'm entitled to point out that he did play guitar during the 96-2001 period and any dylan fan would know that regardless of when they graduated.

The concensus is he's not a great guitarist.. if you went to his shows as you say (something i doubt) you know that his guitar playing consisted of largely 2 note solos with his band's guitarists doing the heavy lifting! I happened to enjoy them but to say he started to suck because he didn't play guitar is just ridiculous..people don't go to see dylan to see his guitar skills and his voice has remained pretty much the same..it was tough to understand what song he was singing in 1996 and its tough today. Tony Garnier still leads the band and if anything they better than ever

I apologize if you find reality difficult to handle and please try to refrain from insults. You should be confident enough in your beliefs to not have to resort to mudslinging. [/b]
Thank God Tony is still around and George (his drummer), they are the only ones keeping that band alive.  When Dylan went to the keyboards it was ok, but the last I saw him in 2006 he had that Carnival Organ thing going.  Some of it was painful.  I did see a lot of good shows that year, Fairfax, Ottowa and his 'surprise' show in NYC. Stu Kimball is so boring!  Dylan claims this is his best band "man for man" but I think as a collective they blow hard. Bring back Larry Campbell or Fredd Koella...they were at least interesting. Apparently Stew and Dylan got in a fight Friday night because Dylan thought he sucked.  I am being completely serious.  However, this is not stopping me from scalping tickets after work to see Bob on the boardwalk at Asbury Park.  Rumor has it Bruce will show up...he is off until Friday when the e street tour picks back up.  Then again, if ANYONE plays ANYWHERE within ten feet of Asbury Park those rumors of the Boss showing up always occur.
