I dunno.  Have you heard "How I Remember?"  It's a pretty rocking, kick-ass song.

There are tons that I could name but I'll limit it to one.

 Trespassers William

This is along the lines of Bearman's Elliott Smith post, of which I agree. Those who know them, love them, especially Anna Lynne Williams. Others seem to not even know they exist. Anna Lynne has probably the cleanest and most beautiful voice in modern Rock (in its broadest sense). Any kind of doctoring in the studio or effects only harm those gorgeous vocals. She sounds just as perfect live as recorded. On top of that, the whole band do their part to enhance the music as a whole. They aren't just her backup band.

For the newbies, check out their second album called Different Stars. Very accessible to the masses and just plain good listening.

He's a great story teller.  I think Pedro The Lion was better as a whole than Bazan solo, but both are favorites of mine.

Richard Thompson

He has a decent following, but it doesn't make any sense to me that he isn't worshipped as a songwriter in the same league as Dylan/Neil/Springsteen, or worshipped as a guitarist in the same league as Clapton.  Maybe he just isn't as digestible for the masses as they are.

Jolie Holland.  People either love her or hate her, but I absolutely worship her and want to make everyone at least give her a chance.  Can't stop listening to the new song on her myspace.

I'm even growing my hair out and trying to dye it like hers.  (TOTAL FAN GIRL.)

Are you going to grow out your armpit hair like her too?

I concur with this choice. Liked her since the release of Escondida in 2004ish.

Beachwood Sparks
 Sparklehorse

Can't make it a spark trifecta though, I've never liked Sparks. The singers vocal style annoys me.
