Perhaps you are right. When the usual perpretrators of mishief are having off days, others must pick up the slack.

i am 15, so what? are you going to discriminate against me now? [/b]
That would explain your immaturity when it comes to selecting your favourite hockey team...  ;)

fyi the age poll thread  i created was so i could find out why some of you post in the manner you do. i long susepcted that the reason was that some of you are simply just plain young! like some pimply-faced 14 yo kid at the computer with a BIG NAME sort of how behind it all the wizard of oz was this little guy. besides who has all that time and desire to sit even into the evening on a forum for thousands of posts?!? i think i would like to change my name to "The EradddddicaTORRRRR!"

i have a feeling muschi is trying to spark an argument here. i will not oblige. especially not in the thread denouncing pointless arguments!

Just seeing if I could catch anybody dumb enough to post a show review of a show that had not yet happened. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I feel bad as a rule -- I don't think I'm one of the 'regulars' thatguy had in mind when he posted.  I'm usually inviting of newbies (I was one once, after all, and remember how weird it was quite well) -- ironically, except for you, muschi, who I believe was being negative, simplistic and particularly nasty about both New Jersey and the Wrens.  I responded to you because I, in fact, found YOU to be smothering of opinions and the discussion.  Hence, I find you post in this thread to be pretty ironic as well.

PS, anything I said to you in the Wrens thread I'd say to your face, and in front of thatguy!    ;)

Well, good for you, but not everyone is made of Teflon.  I think it's ridiculous to like alt-country, does that make me right?  No, it's my opinion.  Your opinion is that what is said on message board should be taken with a grain of salt.  And generally I agree.  But sometimes, the things said on this board are truly  mean-spirited and not everyone can be as tough or quick-witted or sarcastic as you (and others). [/b]
I agree with you completely, Arlette.  In my first few months of posting, I felt very hurt a few times -- on a personal level, as if someone had said something horribly rude to my face, in front of a crowd of people.

Bulletin Boards were new to me entirely, though, and I hadn't realized there could be a real sense of community.  As I began to see that there is a community, then people were particularly mean-spirited to me personally was jarring and I almost left a couple times.  I certainly SWORE I'd never meet anyone here.  Guess that didn't work out all that well!

Oh man that has me cracking up....

I know someone will call me sanctimonious or a suckup or whatever (and they will, as I'm an oldster here), but here's my example -- not only do I not post, but I don't even read threads on fantasy hockey, fantasy football, most soccer threads, the fourth thread on when will New Pornographer tix go on sale, "short people," "tall people," or the gajillion threads Dupek sometimes decides to start all at once with titles just one letter different, etc.  Just skip 'em entirely.  So easily done.

A place up front AND you get to talk to the artist? Most clubs would insist that you actually show up early for these opportunities (or stick around after the show), but the 9:30 Club has now given people the opportunity to pay twice the cover charge for these opportunities. GOD Bless the 9:30 club, for selling these unique opportunities to clubgoers!
I suppose we should make it clear that this is an initiative DAR Williams has put in place to benefit local, grass roots charities which she believes do good and perhaps under appreciated works on a local basis.  The DC area group she will be donating the proceeds from the VIP ticket sales is CrisisLink - a crisis and
suicide prevention hotline in the DC area.

re: bags and his fascination w the wrens and new joisey.

im reading all this back and forth crap and tempted to reply but i know better so i dont. but somethign shoudl be made clear and i think its goes along with thatguy's whole mission w this thread: hey take or leave it if u dont like something said here, don't beat other people over the head about it. despite your possible paranoia, opinions expressed here arent directed at you the reader. god, it's likek u r charlie manson listeneiong to the beatles and think it's directed at you. before long we'd have HELTER SKELTER! arrgghhh!!! [say what?! i dunno either lol]

this cursed race (human) has never agreed, never will and won't here on this little microcosm [that means small version of, yes im being facetious saying that]

Muschi, I don't take anything you said personally, I assure you.  You, in fact, would not let the "NJ Sucks" rant end -- not "taking or leaving" opinions to the contrary or accepting any notion other than Jersey represents a nuclear waste zone.  You are far, far from the ideal you posit in this particular thread.  Do I think you should leave?  No, I spent years ignoring walkonby's rants as well (though mostly because I couldn't understand his points amidst the odd sentence structure and bizarre grammar, of which your posts are reminiscent...).

Actually, looking back, I didn't even tell you to shut up, just confessed to being tempted to do so.  And then I set out several points to argue your rant.  Pretty straightforward, really.
