Can you be more specific?  Give examples.

ok... back in 1990 when I was a bike messenger - dreadlocks, Ethiopian - I rode to georgetown to visit a friend. I passed by this Morely Safer looking fellow in a jacket and khakis who called me a fucking nigger. I circled back and said "excuse me?" after which he chucked something at my eye - probably a rock or something. Whatever it was, it cut my eye and I went into what was then Pinnochio's and asked the hostess - an older woman - if I could use their phone to call the police. I told her this man threw something at me that cut my forehead and she said "I'm not surprised" and walked away.
I hauled down the street and foundthe guy walking down the street then found a cop. I told him what happenned and practically begged him to come with me and get the guy. The cop ended up having a conversation with the man, even laughing , and came back telling me to fuck off, saying "Now what if I listened to you and jacked this guy up for no reason? Why the fuck should I believe you?" SO I rode my dumb ass away.

 Hold up I've got more...

Dude, the cliche here is your disbelief. Which is understandable becuase you wouldn't know. Got any black friends? Ask em. Hell, ask a brown person.

Another time - this time in Toronto - I was walking out of a laundromat with a duffle bag full of freshly washed and dried clothes. Just as I was walking up, I got grabbed and thrown against a wall by 3 undercover constables who assumed I had just broken into an a partment and my bag was full of booty. They kept me there for about a half hour, even after they saw that all I had was clothes, checking my passport, then student visa etc. they even made cracks about taking my shit unless I could provide receipts. nice.

So how is that not an isolated incident but rather a deeply institutionalized practice?

 1. I was mugged by two black guys, and kicked in the head for good measure after they took my wallet.

 2. Numerous times while walking down the street with my wife, black men have made comments to the extent, "I'm gonna steal your woman from you."

 3. I have seen numerous black teenagers throw their fast food garbage on the ground as they walk down the street...much more often than I have seen white teens exhibit said behaviour.

Am I to conclude that these were not isolated incidents, but rather deeply institutionalized behavioral practices of the Black race?

OK

 1) I've been mugged 4 times in my life. In all cases, they were black men from bad neighborhoods - I know this because I was in theirs - who were probably unemployed. So yeah I'm comfortable in saying that black - or any other - folk who come from bad neighborhoos, don't work and don't own a stain of hope in life are likely to mug us all bc it's institutionalized behavior. They'll do it to each other's moms as easily as they'll do it to you.

 2) I've had white dudes try to do as much without saying as much to me, so it's not a Black Thang, it's a meathead thing.

 3) I think it's more of a kid thing than a black kid thing. I see it all the time in my parent's neighborhood out in Franconia.

It sounds to me like you live in a neighborhood where you are or at least feel you're being marginalized by your neighbors for being the white guy. I have a handful of friends in petworth and other places who feel the same. But you're personal experience doesn't change the fact that racism is institutionalized in this country.

try being gay!

they've been persecuted, killed, hated, laughed at, attacked, slandered, beat up, robbed . . . and that is just by the christians.

the same black man who takes offense at being called a n#@gger, is the same black man who will gladly call a gay person faggot.  (just ask fifty-cent . . . or any other rapper; they'll tell 'ya)

So, how is Rob_Gee assumption of what will happen to  him if he walks down MLK:
"I'm sure if I walked down Martin Luther King Blvd, I'd be called every white name in the book, and probably killed, but would they consider it a hate crime? Probably not."

any less cliched than this by sacriforce:
"racism against blacks is still a deeply institutionalized practice in this country."

Sacriforce could write a thesis based on his statement alone. There are documented facts to back up that statement. Go to any book store and you'll find literature to back up that claim.

Now, prove that a white man will be called out of his name if he walks down MLK and/or killed. Back that claim up. Does anyone have personal experience with this? Has anyone had a near death experience walking down MLK? Has anyone here actually walked down MLK?

Bush: what happened to you sucks, and no rational thinking person, no matter thier ethnicty, will give a pass to the people that did that shit to you. But don't use that to discredit Sacriforce's point. And it's not even worth trying. The facts to back that claim up are at anyone's disposal.

Discrimination: Being Gay vs. Being Minority

Yes, everyone discriminates against a Gays. However, Gays and Lesbian can choose to hide the fact that they are homosexual. Most minorities have no choice but to look like their ethnicity. So, if someone wants to disciriminate against them (us) they can without ever considering who and what we are.
