I'm going (and may have two extra tix, fyi).  Wondering about the openers in terms of planning when to get there, etc.

You're in for a treat.  I saw them on a late night show this week and was bummed to not be able to see them again.

 Enjoy.

Not sure yet.  Have tickets in hand, but not sure I want to be there bad enough to go solo.

Wow, I didn't realize people were still hung up on going to shows alone. I would have missed a shitload of shows if I allowed myself to get caught up in that mindest.

I'm going to FF solo and plan to have a great time.  :)

Don't get me wrong, I do it all the time--especially at the Black Cat.  But its always funner to have company.

normally, i would be working this show or going to it, but i'm driving to philly on sunday to see bardo pond, mazarin, and the legendary swedish psych band TRAD GRAS OCH STENAR, which will be well worth the trek.

i'm very curious to hear what FF are like live. i think sons & daughters shares a member with arab strap.

concerning !!!, they're fun to watch because of their energy, but i can't stand the singer most of the time. he's much better in out hud. white magic didn't impress me too much when i saw them open for deerhoof, but that was last year and i hear they've improved immensely.

The good thing about being a steady memeber of this board is that even if you go to a show alone, you are likely to run into other board members. Happens every time for me.

I'll be there, and am really looking forward to seeing FF. I've listened to that damn record at least 100 times. Every song on there is good, and several of them are great.

That said, I'm very very very bummed to be missing The !!! show. Saw them at the 2003 Siren Fest and thought it was amazing, and I'll bet it's the (far) better of the two shows. I'm sure FF will be good, but I expect it will be like seeing the Strokes or Weezer: good songs that are played exactly as they are on the record.

Was really struggling with which to go to, but since !!! are from NYC, chances are better they'll be back. But if both shows can be done, I'm going to do it.

Every live review (critics and skeptical fans on other message boards) I've read on FF has given them high marks on their live show. The latest issue of The Big Takeover has a nice write-up on them.

VB, i did not see the mogwai/bardo show at the 9:30, but i did see it in NYC at irving. those are two of my favorite bands. the 9:30 show is sort of legendary because mogwai totally blew the speakers (blame it on their soundman). the sound at irving was ridiculously loud, too.

relaxer, !!! is playing the ottobar on saturday, if you have a car, motorcycle, or golden chariot.
