I thought Earthless was great. Was happy when they finally wrapped up, as I can only take that kind of higher-Higher-HIGHER solo jamming for so long before burning out on it. The first band was pretty damn good too, especially the bass player. The guitar player was playing very simple runs but it worked. Only stayed for about five or six numbers of Witch because I was spent at that point and they weren't doing much for me. Man, I understand that he's an old man now, but J was looking awfully puffy. Also, there's something bittersweet about seeing one of the greatest guitar players of our generation playing drums.
Also, did anyone see that big tall guy that passed out in the middle of the floor at the end of the first band's set? Yeah, he was with me. It was funny because he was a friend of a friend who I met for the first time a week ago. And then there he was, sprawled out on the floor and I'm thinking, holy shit, I don't even know this guy.
