Joe is.

I'll see them again when they play a room in DC that doesn't have a PA that sounds  like a poorly encoded mp3. That 930 show was a lot of fun. Too bad there were less than 100 people there.

I've only seen liars once, when they opened for radiohead in camden in 2008, and frankly they blew chunks. Would have left if I could, but didn't want to lose my spot so I had to endure. Hopefully they've gotten better. Or maybe I caught them on one of their bad nights.

How is the new album?  I don't think I've heard a single thing from it.

that's a shame. the three times i've seen them i was more then impressed, especially during their 2006(?) set at the blackcat which blew me away. their sound doesn't necessarily lend well to big pavilions but they still managed to grab the audiences attention at nissan and imo, they were great but to each his own.  i'm still bummed out i missed their last show at the 9:30 club due to the ice storm. i only could imagine how they would've sounded on that stage :(

and i decided not to go tonight due to rnrh shitty pa.

They are one of those bands who I could see being enjoyable only if you're familiar with their material.

Re: the new album, it's the first that rehashes ideas from albums past and does not take a completely different turn which disappointed me a bit. Still pretty good, though.

Thursday: Phoenix on MTV Unplugged
This was awesome, even though it was a TV taping and they only played 6 songs, and most of them twice at that. The band members couldn't have been nicer afterwards, and I got a picture with Sofia Coppola!!

best show so far this year...they played as a five-piece. Last time I saw them was in 2000(!) when they opened for JSBX (YYYs also on the bill).

here's a link to the NYC show: http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2010/04/liars_fol_chen.html
